is a comprehensive crime victim's center serving residents in Bedford County who become victims of crime. Such crimes include, but are not limited to: Domestic Violence, Rape, Incest, Sexual Assault, etc. Physically, emotionally, sexually abused persons can seek counseling and information at YSH without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, handicap, ethnic or national origin, sexual orientation, marital or economic status or political beliefs/affiliations.


Information and Referral Service:



Provides emotional support, information and referrals regarding available resources.


Counseling Services:



YSH offers free, private counseling services to adults and children whose lives have been impacted by such crimes as domestic violence, rape, incest, sexual assault, etc.


Community Intervention/Education Program:



A representative is available to address any group on the issue of domestic violence, rape, or sexual assault and the availability of services dealing with these problems. Programs are available to area schools and in-service trainings are available to medical personnel, law enforcement officials and community-based organizations. Legal Advocacy:



Legal Advocacy services are provided to ensure a better understanding of the emotional and social impact of domestic or sexual violence and assistance through the legal process associated
with initiating action. A YSH staff member and/or volunteer will help to prepare, transport and accompany victims to legal appointments, hearings and through the criminal justice system.
